Our Downtown San Diego private event space is like no other wedding venue or banquet hall. With our prime location, ballpark views, and modern vibe, you will be captivated from the moment you set foot inside. Perfect for your corporate event, birthday party, charity function, wedding, and so much more. Come see what makes our Skybox tower the private event space in San Diego that stands above all the rest.
Why is The Skybox so popular?
It’s true that there are many options when you think about private event spaces or wedding venues in San Diego. You may have even visited a few already. Nothing against the others, but what you’ll likely find is that many of these event spaces are a bit old school. The hotel venues feel like multi-purpose ballrooms. They may have had a corporate lunch in the very same room earlier in the day. No matter how much you decorate, there’s just something that feels somewhat impersonal. And for your wedding or special event, we feel your San Diego venue should shine through.
That’s what makes the Skybox so popular and unique. You don’t have to hold your wedding or gathering in a generic property. Imagine taking the elevator up to a breathtaking view – the best view in Downtown San Diego, in fact. Your guests will be charmed by the ambiance of the Skybox, from its welcoming outdoor area to its chic interior. Think of an amazing day or night in your own private event space and lounge – that’s the Skybox. It’s not stuffy or overly corporate. It’s not bland and interchangeable. It has a vibe all its own that wedding couples and partygoers really connect with.
How to book The Skybox
Our San Diego banquet hall and event space tends to book out far in advance, especially on highly desired calendar dates. So if you are planning a wedding or special event, be sure to contact us right away. Be ready with your event date so we can confirm availability. We’ll then take you through a few details, along with options for your event. If you like what you hear, we highly advise that you book The Skybox as soon as possible to ensure your first choice date. Our highly knowledgeable wedding and events staff will help ensure that all the specifics of your event are handled with the utmost care!

They were fantastic. My husband and I do not live in California so I had flown out to look at a few venues, none of them being the Skybox. I told him I narrowed it down to two. Then right before we both had the opportunity to come out to look at the two I had chosen, we saw the Skybox on the Wedding-Spot and the Knot. My husband said we "HAD" to check it out. I called Amanda and she was the nicest person ever. We booked our appointment and the minute we walked in, my husband said: "This is it".The Skybox is stunning and has some of the best views in San Diego. It is non-traditional and made us feel like we truly had a unique wedding. Before the wedding, we were introduced to our wedding coordinator, Chauncey. Chauncey is one of the sweetest people! She is so experienced and organized. I'm a little OCD and she was able to handle my expectations, meet them, and go above and beyond them. Both her and Amanda were always willing to speak with me on the phone and answer any questions/concerns I had. They were able to point me in the right direction as far as a caterer goes and give recommendations for all our other vendors. At the wedding, all our guests expressed how beautiful the venue was. We were told that it was one of the best weddings and that the view from the venue made it. Our guests were extremely happy because everything ran seamlessly. I never had to worry about anything because Chauncey was there t the whole time. She would come up to me about 5 minutes before we had to do the next event (i.e. father-daughter dance, cake cutting, etc.) and ask if Philip (my husband) and I were ready to move on or if we wanted a few more minutes.Honestly, the care and attention she and her staff that day gave were beyond excellent. Chauncey made sure we ate that day, had a drink in our hands, and were overall happy. The venue is drop-dead gorgeous, but the staff deserves all the praise. I will recommend this place 11 out of 10 times. read less

This was actually the first venue at which we looked, and the only reason we didn't sign on right away was me saying "we cant go with the first place we see." But we found ourselves comparing every other space to this one, and we called them soon after to reserve the date. Everyone at Creative Affairs (which manages events at the venue) was fabulous and so willing to work with us at every twist and turn. Whenever we had a question or issue, the crew was willing to accommodate and make it work. And when the big day came, everyone commented on how beautiful the space is and what a wonderful event it was. We were grateful for the flexibility to bring in our own vendors, but that they had a list of preferred vendors. We ended up going with some of their preferred vendors and we were so glad they were familiar with the site, it made things so much easier. Overall, it was a magical experience and a perfect day. My husband and I knew this was our wedding venue the moment we stepped into the room. Forget your hotel ballrooms with no windows or generic garden gazebo. You don't even need to spend tons on decorations or lighting with the sweeping city lights and landscape all around you. The venue comes with, hands down, the best wedding coordinators in the business from Creative Affairs, a built in bar (you can bring your own spirits at no extra charge), security, and a list of preferred vendors for rentals and catering that you'd probably pick anyway they're so good. We still get genuine compliments from our wedding guests about how it was the best wedding and venue they'd been to and we were married in October 2016. Sunset pictures from this venue are to die for and unlike other wedding pictures you'll see. We truly had our dream wedding and day at The Ultimate Skybox. Our coordinator, Rachel, allowed us to show our out of town parents the venue on separate occasions before the big day, with no hassle at all. The pricing is upfront, and although maybe a bit higher than other venues, so worth it in the end as it really includes a lot, and allows you to just really enjoy the planning process and wedding day! read less

The views are spectacular no matter where you look. Our guests raved about the views. There's multiple places guests can mingle other than at the tables. At the front, they had seating area. There's an outdoor patio with a huge fireplace and seating. I think the fireplace was a guest favorite. I loved the hardwood floors. I was looking for a venue that didn't have that tacky carpet that clashes with everything (you guys know what I'm talking about). This place was just so elegant. Everyone we dealt with at Creative Affairs did an amazing job. Chauncey was our coordinator and I was in good hands the whole time. Our wedding could not have been more perfect. read less

The views of Coronado, Petco and the San Diego skyline are spectacular. Skybox is particularly magical at night. All of our guests raved about the view and it really created the ultimate wedding reception experience! The Creative Affairs team that coordinates events for Skybox is fantastic! We first met Amanda who showed us the venue and we were impressed by how down to earth she was as well as detail-oriented and organized! We knew our wedding reception would be in good hands with Creative Affairs. Jessica was the coordinator who was assigned to our wedding and she was also fantastic to work with! I'm a Type A personality and had lots of random questions leading up to the wedding and Jessica always responded to my e-mails quickly. I really trusted her advice when it came to the layout, logistics, timeline, etc...She is so sweet too! Our reception was perfect! Thanks, Creative Affairs! read less

It's definitely the "Ultimate".We held our reception here and everyone just RAVED about how spectacular the view was. Pili, is who we worked with to put it all together, was just such a doll. ! The vendors she suggested were excellent (Although not too fond with the Floral vendor we chose), other than that, it was a night that was unforgettable, and they make your special occasion an event of the year. Its costly but well worth it ! I can honestly say that no wedding we have been too since have ever topped the skybox! read less

Everything about The Ultimate Skybox exceeded our expectations. We booked this venue because the views are phenomenal and as avid baseball fans this venue hit it out of the park. You get the most beautiful view of downtown, Petco Park and Coronado. You can't go wrong with having your wedding here. The flow of the venue was awesome. Some guests would hang outside by the firepit, some at the bar, and others on the dance floor so no matter where our guests were it felt like everyone was included in the fun. Our guests RAVED about our reception asking how we could have ever found such a cool venue in downtown and after months of having our wedding they still talk about our reception and how awesome it was. The Creative Affairs team was so easy to work with and best of all IT WAS ALL STRESS FREE!! We never once stressed about our reception and how it was going to go. Rachael was so wonderful to work with she really made sure I was at ease with the flow, decorations, set up and schedule that I never turned into a bridezilla... haha. We couldn't be happier with our wedding at The Ultimate Skybox. Thank you Creative Affairs for all of your hard work in making our wedding a day we will never forget. read less

The venue includes an outdoor terrace which overlooks Petco Park, with views of downtown, Point Loma, Coronado & the Pacific Ocean in the background. The venue is quite simply stunning. It's an ideal blend of sophistication and laid back San Diego vibe: not too casual, but not pretentious either. It was perfect! There's a great dance floor area, an ample bar, and even a contemporary outdoor fireplace as well; great for any social gathering. In nice weather, the glass wall leading to the terrace folds completely in, to create a true indoor/outdoor feel. We used this venue on a very busy Padres game night (a Padres/Dodgers game), and even with 40,000+ in attendance, our guests had very few issues with parking or closed streets (there is a 3-level underground parking garage in the building). As for the coordinators: Pili and Chauncey were absolutely amazing! Both were very thorough, professional, and had a meticulous eye for detail. They were also incredibly responsive to all our questions and requests (which were MANY), and were genuinely pleasant to work with. The only thing we would have liked to change about our big day was the weather (which was completely out of their control of course), but even with impending rain, Chauncey remained wonderfully flexible up to the last moment on letting us decided whether or not to hold our ceremony on the outdoor terrace. We received countless compliments from our guests on the seamlessness and flawless execution of our wedding, which is a glowing testament to the entire staff at Creative Affairs. The value this team provided was truly above and beyond our wildest expectations. read less

The wedding I attended began at 5:30pm and it was funny because the music of the Padres getting ready below started to playing during the vows, so all of a sudden you just heard Miley Cyrus rocking out to 'Party in the USA!' WHOO!!! If that doesn't say party, I don't know what does. One cool moment while we were here was when the Padres scored a home run, we could see the fireworks set off from the stadium at the Skybox. The food here is amazing too. I think it's an in-house catering company so if you are looking to have your wedding here, go with the Skybox's choices of caters! Parking is the one thing that really became confusing. When I pulled in to the parking lot under the building, I was told that the Skybox people upstairs would validate my parking. When I asked if there was anything that I needed to pay if I stayed longer or if it became past a certain time, the man who was working the booth just started laughing and me and said "THE SKYBOX WILL VALIDATE!" I was just like, well, all right, took my ticket and drove it. I couldn't believe he laughed at me... at my face! During the cocktail hour, I found one of the staff (later found out he was the security/bouncer man) and had asked him about the Skybox validating my parking. Since I was laughed at, I didn't know what to do. Anyways, he had asked his supervisor and they didn't really know so before I left I asked the people who ran the front desk at the time. They said they didn't really known either, but eventually they let me out. Overall... Beautiful venue and great views of the city. If you are coming to check out the venue for an event/wedding, ask your wedding planner to double check about parking/validation so you don't end up in the same problem as I did! read less

Our contact, Pili, was wonderful at helping us pin down a date and with all the planning up to the day of our wedding. Pili, and the Creative Affairs team, really made our wedding what it was. She saw our vision and went with it. She was very easy going, yet detail-oriented. She was with us every step of the way, checking in often to ensure that everything was going as planned. Her guidance, and our day-of coordinator, Chauncey, were included in the price of the venue. We could not have been more happy with the outcome. We lucked out and had the most beautiful day, with a gorgeous sunset, for our vows. The team changed the room so quickly from our ceremony, to a station dinner set-up, including our first dance set up. This included candles (we provided), in a circle around the dance floor. It was so beautiful. Chauncey was always there for anything we needed. She made sure everything was on schedule, and coordinated with our DJ for songs/dances/toasts/etc. She was not intrusive, though. She only made it in one of our photos 🙂 At the end of the night, the pack-up was so quick. We were prepared to help out a little, but by the time 10 o'clock came, it was pretty much taken care of.Overall, the Skybox was the best place for us to get married. Our families and friends still talk about how flawless things were at our wedding. It's definitely a show-stopping venue and I highly recommend it! Thank you Ultimate Skybox!!! read less

My husband and I did a destination wedding in San Diego and saw 10+ venues in a long weekend trip to nail down the big vendors. As soon as we walked in we knew this was the place. The indoor/outdoor feel, large floor to ceiling windows, outdoor fire place and views of Coronado Island and Petco park are just a few of the features we loved. The space is clean and modern. They have a full kitchen and built in bar. The space is BYOB for all vendors which helps a lot with the cost (there is a required catering and rentals list but its very extensive). The cost is a little higher than we wanted for a venue however with a wedding planner from Creative Affairs built into the price its easy to understand the value and did not cause us to think twice about choosing this space. You have the option of using the furniture on hand or bringing in your own rentals. Since we were having a traditional dinner with family style food, we only opted to only use the belly bar tables outside and outdoor lounge furniture they have on the patio. All their furniture is beautiful itself and we did not need to do any decorating outside of having a few candles. They also have a couple of sectional couches, 2 large 6 person farmer style tables and a few living room chairs. If you are looking to host a casual party of a business event, any of these pieces could be handy to use. We had just over 100 guests and I would say 20 more would have probably been pushing it a bit for a traditional wedding dinner but we would have made it work. With the indoor/outdoor space, you can push tables onto the patio if needed. I would also add the convenience of the parking garage in the building and the ability to cover the cost for guests if you would like. Our wedding was on a night there was no baseball game so it was a little cheaper. We provided transportation for most guests so parking costs were under $200 for all our guests who drove so we covered the cost. Consistent with other reviews here, its an amazing way to show your guests the city of San Diego. read less

City views, upscale decor, but still fun and youthful. It really was terrific. I mean, just look at this view! yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… and yelp.com/biz_photos/the-…I loved that the ceremony and reception were all in one location. I also loved the fireplace, it's kind of my "thing." So for me, that was a selling point. We had the great pleasure of having Rachael Mendoza be our day-of coordinator. Wen I say "day-of" it really is an understatement, Rachael was an integral part of planning everything so that the day went off flawlessly. In addition to all of the planning and coordinating of vendors, Rachael also helped me surprise my bride/wife with a live event artist. This involved twice the amount of work for her (coordinating a second layout meeting, sending separate emails to us and then to me separately and doing all very covertly). Quite honestly, I don't think we could have done it without her. read less
